Fire Prevention and Security Systems Administrator

Responsibilities

• Coordinate the maintenance, repairs, inspections, and upgrades of fire, sprinkler, and security systems
• Conduct routine building inspections for fire and life safety issues and recommend corrective actions
• Inspect the construction and installation of fire and life safety equipment and systems
• Advise project managers and contractors on fire prevention requirements for new building and renovation projects
• Review construction drawings and specifications to ensure compliance with safety codes
• Program security systems, access control, and CCTV systems for daily operations and events
• Implement plans and process improvements for project activities and access control distribution

Requirements

• Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in fire technology or an equivalent combination of experience
• Minimum five years of related experience in fire safety with knowledge of relevant legislation and standards
• Comprehensive knowledge of the Ontario Building and Fire Codes
• Experience reviewing drawings and specifications for new construction and renovations
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook)
• Valid Ontario driver's license
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Working knowledge of CAD software
