About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide fire protection and life safety design, analysis, and construction support for industrial facilities.
- Perform fire hazard analysis to determine appropriate active and passive fire protection schemes.
- Conduct fire and smoke modeling, hazard analysis, risk assessments, and explosion protection strategies.
- Generate calculations for water supply, fire pumps, and underground pipe sizing.
- Develop, award, and manage subcontractor scope of work packages.
- Review subcontractor fire suppression and fire alarm system plans and calculations.
- Perform life safety reviews for buildings and industrial equipment areas.
- Travel to project sites approximately 10% of the time to meet with clients and job site personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Fire Protection, Mechanical, or Architectural Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in fire protection and life safety design/analysis for industrial or power facilities.
- Proficiency with NFPA codes 13, 14, 20, 22, 24, 72, and 101.
- Proficiency with International Building Code (IBC) and International Fire Code (IFC).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Engineer in Training (EIT) certification.
- Familiarity with NFPA 850 and NFPA 2001.
- Experience with construction administration.
- Experience in Data Centers, Water treatment, Power, or Nuclear sectors.
