About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections to ensure compliance with fire protection requirements and local fire codes
- Monitor, enforce, and document compliance with fire protection standards and amendments
- Coordinate the inspection, maintenance, and testing of fire protection systems per NFPA standards
- Identify corrective actions to ensure systems comply with federal, state, and municipal laws
- Document violations and corrective actions using computer-based tracking applications
- Review facility plans and drawings for compliance with egress design and fire protection systems
- Respond to emergencies including structure fires, hazardous materials, and aircraft rescue firefighting (ARFF)
- Provide emergency medical care and support various rescue operations as requested
Requirements
- Current valid driver’s license with the ability to obtain a Washington State license within 30 days
- State, IFSAC, or Proboard Firefighter 1 certification
- Ability to pass and maintain an annual Firefighter/HazMat physical and stress test
- Ability to obtain ICC Fire Inspector I certification within 18 months of hire
Preferred Qualifications
- State, IFSAC, or Pro Board Firefighter 2 Certification
- FAA, IFSAC, or Pro Board Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting certification
- Current National Registry or Washington State Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification
- Experience with building and fire codes, modern fire prevention principles, and hazardous materials
- Experience with Aircraft Rescue Firefighting (ARFF)
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite
