About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct fire safety inspections by testing smoke detectors, pull stations, and other equipment
- Investigate complaints regarding fire safety hazards
- Compile data and order actions to comply with codes and ordinances
- Issue citations for violations of state and county fire codes
- Advise property owners of necessary actions to resolve violations
- Prepare fire inspection reports to document activities and results
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Clean driving and criminal records
- Mechanically inclined with a preference for hands-on work
- Ability to work overtime as required
- Willingness to wear steel-toed safety footwear
