About the role

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all fire and EMS department operations, including 911 responses and interfacility transfers
  • Lead and manage a team of firefighter/EMS providers and support staff
  • Manage department budgets and oversee staffing schedules
  • Coordinate training and professional development for department personnel
  • Implement fire prevention programs and serve as the town Fire Inspector
  • Act as the town Health Officer and collaborate with local agencies to ensure community safety

Requirements

  • Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in fire service and EMS
  • Proven experience in supervisory or leadership roles
  • Current EMS Advanced provider license (or higher)
  • Demonstrated experience in budget management and staff scheduling
  • Valid driver's license and relevant professional certifications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Science, Emergency Medical Services, or a related field
  • Extensive experience managing fire-based EMS operations
