Fire Captain

Responsibilities

• Supervise firefighting companies in fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and HazMat operations
• Lead and coordinate personnel activities, including training, coaching, and establishing performance goals
• Respond to medical emergencies, fire incidents, and other emergency requests while utilizing proper PPE and SCBA
• Direct emergency scene activities such as hose line placement, ventilation, and rescue operations
• Oversee the maintenance of the fire station, equipment, and apparatus
• Conduct fire prevention inspections and provide safety education to management and associates
• Identify training needs and instruct classes in firefighting and EMS techniques
• Write detailed reports regarding emergency activities and the condition of equipment

Requirements

• Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience
• Firefighter I Certification
• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Certification
• Hazardous Material Technician Certification

Preferred Qualifications

• Firefighter II Certification
• Advanced EMT or Paramedic Certification
• Fire Safety Inspector Certification
• Certifications in Confined Space or Rope Rescue Technician
• Industrial Fire/EMS experience
