About the role

Responsibilities

  • Perform Fire Assay techniques including fluxing, fusing, and cupelling samples
  • Carry out routine equipment maintenance under supervisor direction
  • Complete and maintain accurate work order documentation, fusion sheets, and logs
  • Follow Quality system protocols and report discrepancies
  • Maintain a clean work environment and manage proper disposal of lab waste
  • Organize and label waste disposal
  • Support other Geochemistry laboratory sections or special projects as required

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant laboratory work experience preferred
  • Ability to read and follow written work instructions accurately
  • Proficiency in computer software such as Word, Excel, CCLAS, and Oracle
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent time management and attention to detail
  • Ability to work in high temperature environments and with ovens
  • Good hand-eye coordination for handling samples and equipment
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating day and overnight shifts
