About the role
Responsibilities
- Maintain production and quality targets while ensuring optimal staff levels
- Schedule department workflow to meet client deadlines and monitor throughput
- Train, motivate, and assess performance of staff
- Manage inventory of consumables and supplies
- Solve day-to-day production and process problems
- Monitor lab QC standards and ensure data quality
- Perform method validation and data evaluation
- Conduct accident/incident investigations and root cause analysis
- Supervise staff in laboratory analysis according to established methods
- Manage equipment maintenance and preventative maintenance schedules
- Organize waste disposal
Requirements
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in a Science related program (Chemistry, Geochemistry, etc.)
- Demonstrated experience in geochemical analysis related to Fire Assay
- 1–3 years of previous supervisory experience
- Strong leadership skills with experience supervising small technical teams in a minerals laboratory
