About the role
Responsibilities
- Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of geological samples through fusion and cupellation
- Manage crucible setup and prepare samples for fusion
- Perform fusion and cupellation processes using specialized furnace tools
- Adhere strictly to all safe work procedures and standard operating procedures
- Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment
- Ensure analytical quality by following established methods and schedules
- Comply with all company health and safety policies and regulations
Requirements
- High School Education completion required
- Familiarity with fire assay methods and digestion volumes
- Strong analytical, mechanical, and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for a full shift
- Ability to work in hot and dusty laboratory environments
- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks
- Willingness to work various shifts including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends
- Ability to comply with health and safety requirements, including respirator use and regular lead blood testing
Preferred Qualifications
- Diploma or Degree in Science
- Previous laboratory experience in a production-oriented environment
