About the role

Responsibilities

  • Conduct routine and non-routine analyses of geological samples through fusion and cupellation
  • Manage crucible setup and prepare samples for fusion
  • Perform fusion and cupellation processes using specialized furnace tools
  • Adhere strictly to all safe work procedures and standard operating procedures
  • Maintain cleaning and maintenance schedules for laboratory equipment
  • Ensure analytical quality by following established methods and schedules
  • Comply with all company health and safety policies and regulations

Requirements

  • High School Education completion required
  • Familiarity with fire assay methods and digestion volumes
  • Strong analytical, mechanical, and organizational skills
  • Ability to lift up to 50lbs and stand for a full shift
  • Ability to work in hot and dusty laboratory environments
  • Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks
  • Willingness to work various shifts including days, afternoons, graveyards, and weekends
  • Ability to comply with health and safety requirements, including respirator use and regular lead blood testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • Diploma or Degree in Science
  • Previous laboratory experience in a production-oriented environment
