Fire Alarm Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair alarm system problems
• Perform routine service and installation including replacing detectors, flex loops, and manual pull stations
• Interface fire alarm systems with HVAC, sprinkler systems, access control, and elevators
• Perform maintenance and inspection of engineered systems including Halon, CO2, and Clean Agents
• Execute panel replacements and mount control panels, sensors, and wiring
• Read and follow blueprints, electrical layouts, and building plans
• Maintain company vehicle and organize equipment
• Provide professional customer service and resolve complaints or warranty issues
• Complete all required paperwork including reports, service orders, and timesheets
• Participate in an on-call schedule for emergency service calls

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Mechanical skills and aptitude
• Proficient basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds

Preferred Qualifications

• NICET certification
• Working knowledge of various system programming and technologies
