Fire Alarm Technician

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair alarm system problems
• Perform routine service and installation including replacing detectors, flex loops, and manual pull stations
• Interface fire alarm systems with HVAC, sprinkler systems, access control, and elevators
• Conduct inspections and functional testing in accordance with NFPA 72 and local codes
• Maintain engineered systems including Halon, Industrial Dry Chemical, Clean Agents, and CO2
• Perform panel replacements and mount control panels, sensors, and wiring
• Read and follow blueprints, electrical layouts, and building plans
• Manage company vehicle cleanliness and return unused parts to the warehouse
• Provide professional customer service and resolve complaints or warranty issues
• Complete all required paperwork including reports, service orders, and timesheets daily
• Participate in the on-call schedule for off-hour emergency service calls

Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record
• Working knowledge of various alarm systems, programming, and technologies
• Mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
• Proficient basic computer skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to climb ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds
• Ability to work in various weather conditions and confined spaces
