About the role
Responsibilities
- Diagnose, service, and repair electronic fire alarm systems and related building products at customer sites
- Follow prescribed troubleshooting procedures using technical manuals, part manuals, and bulletins
- Service, troubleshoot, and install various manufacturers' Fire & Life Safety systems
- Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and operational product manuals
- Provide high-level customer service and act as a trusted advisor to resolve building inefficiencies
- Complete service acknowledgments and obtain customer signatures via mobile devices
- Participate in a scheduled on-call rotation
- Provide recommendations and quotes for facility efficiency and upselling opportunities
Requirements
- 2+ years of documented experience in low voltage electrical systems (Fire/Life Safety, Access Control, Nurse Call, or Paging)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, submittals, and technical specifications
- Proficiency with test equipment, including multi-meters and digital analyzers
- Physical ability to lift and move equipment weighing 50-70 lbs
- Ability to work in difficult positions, including climbing ladders, scaffolding, and high-lift equipment up to 40 feet
- Valid driver's license and a driving record that meets company requirements
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends, and perform overnight travel if required
- Ability to pass a pre-employment background check and drug test
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET Level II certification
