About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead fire alarm and mass notification system design from concept through construction, including layouts, riser diagrams, and calculations.
- Develop detailed, code-compliant drawings, specifications, and technical reports using REVIT and AutoCAD.
- Act as the owner’s representative during design, construction, and commissioning phases.
- Conduct site assessments, field surveys, and support testing and acceptance activities.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, contractors, and authorities having jurisdiction (AHJs).
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff.
Requirements
- 5+ years of progressive experience in fire alarm system design, consulting, or inspection.
- Proficiency with REVIT, AutoCAD, or other industry design software.
- Strong knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 70, and IBC.
Preferred Qualifications
- NICET certification in Fire Alarm Systems (Level II or higher strongly preferred).
- Proficiency with ASPIRE™ software.
- Experience with mass notification systems and integrated life safety solutions.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
