About the role
Responsibilities
- Coordinate welder settings, gun speed, travel, and gas flow
- Read tape measures and blueprints to shop standards
- Adjust gun manipulation and perform repairs for pin holes or burn-through
- Train others in proper welding procedures
- Operate overhead cranes and lifting equipment
- Maintain bead quality, shape, size, and penetration
- Maintain continuous improvement practices in the work area
Requirements
- Associates degree or equivalent technical training
- 1-3 years of welding experience
- Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings
- Proficiency in general mathematics (fractions, percentages, etc.)
- Experience using power hand tools and driving a forklift
- Ability to use measuring devices like micrometers and protractors
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually
