Finish Painter

Responsibilities

• Prepare various surfaces for primer and final finish coatings using manual and power sanding, brushing, and cleaning equipment
• Mechanically or chemically strip corrosion, rust, and old finishes from products
• Apply pre-mixed and blended paints or corrosion protective coatings to aluminum and steel structures
• Mix, blend, and match various primers, paints, and coatings as required
• Operate spray guns to apply industrial paint finishes on metal products
• Apply stenciling and marking to products in accordance with engineering drawings and specifications
• Utilize personal protective equipment, including respirators and eye protection, to ensure safety
• Maintain compliance with Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) for handling and storing hazardous materials

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent
• Minimum 2 years of experience in the field or equivalent work-related experience
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, technical manuals, and specifications
• Knowledge of paint spray guns, mixers, and surface preparation tools
• Training and knowledge in the proper use of respirators
