Finish Machinist

Responsibilities

• Perform finish turning, drilling, and tapping operations to final dimensions as specified on engineering drawings.
• Set up manual lathes as required to perform individual finish operations.
• Set correct feeds and speeds for various material types.
• Maintain equipment by checking oil levels and lubricating machines daily.
• Maintain and record time sheets for each operation performed.
• Ensure a clean and safe working area by removing machined chips and following safety protocols.
• Move completed work to proper holding areas following Quality at the Source expectations.

Requirements

• High school education.
• 1-3 years of specialized machining training.
• Proficiency in shop mathematics.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience using various types of precision measuring instruments.
• Physical ability to exert up to 50 lbs. of force occasionally and perform strenuous tasks involving bending, reaching, and standing.

Preferred Qualifications

• 1-3 years of specific manual lathe experience.
