FinCrime Operations Team Lead - Reporting

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of financial crime analysts in São Paulo, fostering a culture of accountability and quality.
• Manage team performance through clear goal-setting, feedback, and development planning.
• Own and manage key performance indicators (KPIs), including service delivery goals, SLA adherence, and regulatory compliance.
• Ensure all Suspicious Activity Reports (SAR) meet COAF requirements and act as an escalation point for complex cases.
• Design and optimize operational workflows, identifying process gaps and implementing solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Compliance, Product, and Data teams to enhance tools and streamline reporting processes.
• Identify operational risks and contribute to the design of effective controls and mitigation strategies.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience leading operational teams (5+ people) in financial services, compliance, or fintech.
• Strong background in AML/financial crime, specifically with SAR/STR workflows or case investigation.
• Fluency in Portuguese (native or business-level) and strong English communication skills.
• Data-driven mindset with the ability to use metrics to manage performance and drive decisions.
• Proven experience in performance management, including addressing underperformance with clarity.
• Hands-on leadership style with the ability to coach and tackle problems alongside the team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Deep knowledge of Brazilian AML regulations and COAF requirements.
• Experience working in high-growth regulated environments, such as fintech or challenger banks.
• Familiarity with case management tools, automation, or workflow optimization.
