About the role
Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and improve scalable controls and assurance processes across financial systems and reporting platforms
- Partner with Finance, IT, Analytics, and Engineering to enhance controls supporting financial reporting, including ITGCs and application controls
- Evaluate system and process changes to identify control impacts and support operational readiness
- Build and operationalize scalable workflows, evidence standards, and control documentation
- Review system activity, reporting outputs, and audit evidence to validate completeness and accuracy
- Use SQL and reporting tools to support control validation, reconciliation, and exception analysis
- Support access governance, including user access reviews and segregation of duties (SoD)
- Partner with auditors and stakeholders to support walkthroughs and remediation efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or equivalent practical experience
- At least 3 years of experience in SOX compliance, IT controls, internal/external audit, or financial systems assurance
- At least 2 years of experience using SQL for data analysis and control validation
- Strong understanding of SOX, ITGCs, logical access, change management, and application controls
- Ability to translate compliance requirements into practical operational solutions
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in a publicly traded company or SOX-regulated environment
- Experience with ERP systems, data warehouses, or system-generated reports used in financial reporting
- Proficiency with tools such as Workiva, Jira, ServiceNow, Snowflake, dbt, Looker, or Tableau
- Experience supporting remediation of SOX gaps related to access management or change management
- Understanding of financial processes like revenue, accounts payable, inventory, or payroll
