Responsibilities

• Advising staff on accounting practices and University financial policies
• Monitoring department budgets to ensure expenditures remain within allocations
• Recording detailed transactions including payroll
• Monitoring, reconciling, and reporting on funding accounts for grants and contracts
• Identifying and resolving financial discrepancies
• Preparing financial summary reports
• Processing payroll and verifying HRIS transactions

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in commerce, accounting, finance, or equivalent experience
• Minimum four years of recent experience in financial and payroll administration
• Experience with budget monitoring and reconciliation
• Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and expense reimbursements
• Experience processing payroll and troubleshooting discrepancies
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
• Experience with HRIS, FIS, or SAP administrative systems
• Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Professional accounting designation or currently working towards one
• Experience in a post-secondary environment
