Financial & Operations Analyst

Responsibilities

• Prepare monthly department-cost and overhead analysis, including variance and trend reporting
• Build schedules tying revenue, gross profit, and operating expenses to business unit profitability
• Maintain productivity reporting such as $GP per head and loads per head from TMS platforms
• Investigate and resolve administrative issues within billing, collections, and back-office operations
• Identify inefficiencies and implement new processes or SOPs to automate workflows
• Support profitability stress-test analysis and commission plan modeling
• Manage cargo-claims reporting and track recovery trends
• Pull, clean, and reconcile data across multiple transportation management systems and QuickBooks

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
• 3–6 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business operations, or billing/collections
• Advanced Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and financial modeling
• Solid understanding of revenue, gross profit, margin, variance, and cost analysis
• Proven ability to resolve operational issues and document processes/SOPs
• Strong attention to detail and high sense of ownership over data accuracy

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or 3PL
• Working knowledge of TransportPro, Cargotel, Tai, or QuickBooks
• Familiarity with EDI, customer portals, or accounts receivable workflows
• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or process automation tools
• Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
• Progress toward CPA, CMA, or MBA
