About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly department-cost and overhead analysis, including variance and trend reporting
- Build schedules tying revenue, gross profit, and operating expenses to business unit profitability
- Maintain productivity reporting such as $GP per head and loads per head from TMS platforms
- Investigate and resolve administrative issues within billing, collections, and back-office operations
- Identify inefficiencies and implement new processes or SOPs to automate workflows
- Support profitability stress-test analysis and commission plan modeling
- Manage cargo-claims reporting and track recovery trends
- Pull, clean, and reconcile data across multiple transportation management systems and QuickBooks
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field
- 3–6 years of experience in financial analysis, FP&A, business operations, or billing/collections
- Advanced Excel skills including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and financial modeling
- Solid understanding of revenue, gross profit, margin, variance, and cost analysis
- Proven ability to resolve operational issues and document processes/SOPs
- Strong attention to detail and high sense of ownership over data accuracy
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in freight brokerage, transportation, logistics, or 3PL
- Working knowledge of TransportPro, Cargotel, Tai, or QuickBooks
- Familiarity with EDI, customer portals, or accounts receivable workflows
- Experience with Power BI, Tableau, SQL, or process automation tools
- Exposure to Lean or Six Sigma methodologies
- Progress toward CPA, CMA, or MBA
