About the role
Responsibilities
- Forecast and plan financial activities, incorporating budgets with multiple revenue sources and recoveries
- Monitor, record, reconcile, and report on various accounts, grants, and contracts
- Process accounts payable and prepare regular deposits in accordance with University guidelines
- Advise staff and student groups on accounting practices, financial policies, and procedures
- Generate standard financial reports and provide budget oversight and stewardship support
- Lead the financial literacy program, including curriculum development, event logistics, and community partnerships
- Provide administrative support to committees, including drafting agendas and meeting minutes
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field, plus advanced standing in a recognized accounting program
- Minimum of three years of experience in financial accounting and financial analysis
- Experience in program management, implementation, and assessment, preferably in a post-secondary or non-profit setting
- Proficiency with FIS, HRIS, Kronos, PowerBI, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
- Demonstrated ability to interpret complex policies and apply accounting principles
- Strong interpersonal skills with experience training, mentoring, and engaging students
- Proven ability to work effectively in a diverse community and manage changing priorities
