About the role

Responsibilities

  • Forecast and plan financial activities, incorporating budgets with multiple revenue sources and recoveries
  • Monitor, record, reconcile, and report on various accounts, grants, and contracts
  • Process accounts payable and prepare regular deposits in accordance with University guidelines
  • Advise staff and student groups on accounting practices, financial policies, and procedures
  • Generate standard financial reports and provide budget oversight and stewardship support
  • Lead the financial literacy program, including curriculum development, event logistics, and community partnerships
  • Provide administrative support to committees, including drafting agendas and meeting minutes

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in business or a related field, plus advanced standing in a recognized accounting program
  • Minimum of three years of experience in financial accounting and financial analysis
  • Experience in program management, implementation, and assessment, preferably in a post-secondary or non-profit setting
  • Proficiency with FIS, HRIS, Kronos, PowerBI, and advanced Microsoft Excel skills
  • Demonstrated ability to interpret complex policies and apply accounting principles
  • Strong interpersonal skills with experience training, mentoring, and engaging students
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a diverse community and manage changing priorities
