Financial Officer

Responsibilities

• Apply generally accepted accounting principles to all financial tasks
• Code financial information for processing in FIS and HRIS systems
• Ensure proper approvals are obtained prior to processing transactions
• Generate standard financial reports and reconcile accounts
• Process departmental payroll
• Manage accounts payable (invoices, expense reimbursements, purchase orders) and accounts receivable (deposits)
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of policies, procedures, and collective agreements

Requirements

• Advanced College Diploma (3 years) in Accounting or Finance, or equivalent experience
• Minimum three years of relevant experience including accounts receivable, payroll, and FIS/HRIS systems
• Proficiency in processing accounts payable and receivable with attention to compliance
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including XLOOKUP and Pivot tables
• Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a high degree of professionalism
