About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a team of pricing actuaries and analysts to partner with underwriters in assessing portfolio performance and optimizing underwriting strategies.
- Monitor and communicate key portfolio trends, statistics, and insights to senior management through quarterly reviews and performance dashboards.
- Develop and calibrate exposure rating models to enable optimum risk selection and benchmark rating monitoring.
- Support underwriting decisions for large accounts, facilities, and binders by developing and maintaining experience rating models.
- Partner with Underwriting, Finance, and Planning teams to formulate yearly and long-term strategic plans and forecasts.
- Lead the parameterization of underwriting risk distributions for Financial Lines and Cyber for the Global Capital Model.
- Manage a team of onshore actuaries and oversee the workflow of interns and offshore analysts.
Requirements
- Professional actuarial qualification (e.g., Fellow of IFoA or CAS).
- 10+ years of pricing experience in long-tail lines within the Specialty or London Market.
- Proven technical expertise in specialty lines case pricing, rating tool development, and portfolio management.
- Strong loss modelling and statistical analysis skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and at least two of the following: R, Dataiku, SQL, Python, ResQ, Radar, Qlik, PowerQuery, or Databricks.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex messages to diverse audiences.
- Ability to drive and execute multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
