About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic data analysis support for U.S. Government financial crime and illicit finance investigations.
- Prepare, cleanse, structure, and validate large financial and investigative data sets to ensure quality and integrity.
- Perform data analysis to identify patterns, trends, and typologies related to money laundering, terrorist financing, and cyber-enabled financial crime.
- Integrate BSA-derived data with open-source information and other government or law enforcement data sources.
- Conduct documented and repeatable analytical workflows to ensure results are reproducible.
- Translate complex analytical results into clear written findings, visualizations, or briefing materials for investigators.
- Collaborate with investigators and government counterparts to align analytical efforts with mission priorities.
Requirements
- Active and current Top Secret clearance with eligibility for SCI.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as data analytics, statistics, economics, finance, computer science, or intelligence studies.
- Demonstrated experience performing data analysis in large, complex data environments involving financial transactions.
- Proficiency with advanced analytics tools or programming languages including Python, R, or Jupyter Notebooks.
- Experience with data cleaning, mapping, validation, and quality assurance processes.
- Ability to apply quantitative and qualitative analytical techniques such as link analysis, trend analysis, or social network analysis.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining technical findings to non-technical audiences.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience analyzing Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) data, including SARs, CTRs, or wire transfer data.
- Familiarity with AML, counter-threat finance, or illicit finance investigative contexts.
- Experience creating data visualizations that support policy or investigative decision-making.
- Prior experience supporting federal law enforcement, regulatory, or national security organizations.
