Financial Crime Manager

Responsibilities

• Support the Deputy MLROs in meeting AML and CTF obligations under UK regulations
• Oversee the effectiveness of financial crime controls across UK products, services, and Wise Platform partners
• Lead day-to-day financial crime risk management and manage internal escalations
• Draft and review MI, board updates, and regulatory reporting
• Act as an alternate contact for law enforcement when required
• Improve AML policies, systems, and operational processes
• Work with first-line teams on fraud prevention, APPR reporting, and fraud control enhancements
• Support partnership onboarding, high-risk partner approvals, and ongoing partner monitoring

Requirements

• Experience in a financial crime role within a regulated UK financial services environment
• Strong knowledge of UK AML/CTF regulations, including the Money Laundering Regulations 2017
• Experience managing financial crime risks and implementing effective controls
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce clear reports
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for senior stakeholders and regulators
• Proactive, self-motivated, and highly detail-oriented
• Experience in fraud prevention and understanding of UK fraud data
• Working knowledge of APPR

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in financial technology or correspondent banking
• Experience supporting partnership risk assessments or high-risk escalations
• Familiarity with correspondent services risk management
• Experience producing MI for ongoing partner monitoring
