Financial Crime Business Oversight Compliance VP

Responsibilities

• Provide data-led expert oversight and "check and challenge" on financial crime compliance matters for Fintech and Correspondent Banking portfolios.
• Identify and assess compliance risks through thorough reviews of business activities, processes, testing, and systems.
• Investigate potential market abuse, money laundering, terrorist financing, and other financial crime activities.
• Implement compliance policies in line with regulatory requirements and ensure alignment with international standards.
• Collaborate with 1LOD, legal, and risk management functions to facilitate a comprehensive approach to risk management.
• Advise senior stakeholders on risk appetite, onboarding, and ongoing client management.
• Oversee corrective actions and preventative measures to mitigate compliance risk events or breaches.

Requirements

• Experience leading the oversight of financial crime systems and controls within a major international bank or payments institution.
• Expertise in assessing financial crime risk associated with Fintechs and Payment Service Providers (PSPs), including e-money and digital asset businesses.
• Deep technical knowledge of payment products, schemes, cross-border clearing, and settlement mechanisms.
• Proven ability to assess and challenge complex client structures and payment flow models.
• Advanced data skills and the ability to use analytical thought to solve complex problems.
• Experience operating within a second line of defence or oversight function.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing oversight on Transaction Monitoring capabilities and alert coverage suitability.
• Proven track record of operating effectively across complex, large-scale organizational environments.
• Ability to represent Compliance on senior leadership committees and control forums.
