Financial Controller

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily financial operations including accounts payable, receivable, cash management, and bank reconciliations
• Manage cash flow, liquidity forecasting, and working capital requirements
• Lead the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with IFRS and UAE regulations
• Provide in-depth financial analysis, variance analysis, and performance metrics to senior leadership
• Manage tax compliance, including VAT filings and statutory obligations in the UAE
• Ensure compliance with local and international financial regulations, including UAE Central Bank and SCA requirements
• Coordinate with external auditors and manage the audit process
• Establish and improve internal control systems to safeguard assets and prevent fraud
• Manage and mentor a growing team of finance professionals
• Optimize financial systems and streamline processes to enhance efficiency

Requirements

• 10-12 years of experience in finance and accounting
• At least 5 years in a leadership position, preferably within fintech or a startup environment
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Extensive knowledge of UAE financial regulations, IFRS, and VAT laws
• Proficiency in financial software such as MS Dynamics, SAP, or QuickBooks
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with financial modeling

Preferred Qualifications

• CPA, CMA, ACCA, or similar professional certifications
• Experience with Power BI and data analytics tools
