Financial Controller

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily accounting tasks and the overall accounting function
• Maintain the general ledger and ensure accurate monthly reconciliations of balance sheet and income statements
• Prepare and process supplier payments
• Post bank transactions and reconcile banks in multiple currencies, including crypto
• Manage inter-company accounting and perform reconciliations
• Assist with the preparation of consolidated monthly management accounts
• Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns and Corporation Tax submissions
• Maintain the fixed asset register and depreciation postings
• Support external audits by preparing schedules and resolving issues
• Collaborate with the Business Central Support Team to enhance system efficiency
• Supervise and mentor the Finance Assistant
• Drive continuous improvement across accounting processes and workflows

Requirements

• Proven experience in a senior accounting role in a complex business environment
• Fully qualified accountant (ACCA / ACA / CPA or equivalent) or in final stages of qualification
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting standards
• Experience managing month-end close processes independently
• Experience with VAT submissions and tax reporting
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Business Central
• Fluency in English (written and spoken)
• Experience supervising or mentoring junior team members is an advantage
