About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide financial, budgetary, and reporting support for the Department of Psychology.
  • Process complex financial documents including expense reports, non-PO invoices, spend authorizations, and travel claims.
  • Enter transactions directly into Workday and ensure adherence to University and granting agency policies.
  • Reconcile and monitor various Worktags, including Programs, Grants, Gifts, and Projects.
  • Investigate and resolve errors or discrepancies in financial data and research grant funding.
  • Prepare and maintain financial reports, ledgers, and budget variance analysis.
  • Act as a primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students regarding accounts payable and financial queries.

Requirements

  • High school graduation.
  • Two-year post-secondary diploma in accounting.
  • Three years of relevant accounting experience.
  • Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion in the workplace.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working with ERP systems, specifically Workday.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Knowledge of Canadian tax laws (GST, PST, HST).
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for interacting with diverse stakeholders.
