About the role
Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain work breakdown structures (WBS) to ensure compliant cost charging, billing, and revenue recognition
- Support project budgeting, baselines, funding profiles, and schedules, including calculating estimates to complete (EAC)
- Review incurred costs and forecast future expenditures using labor productivity, material price forecasts, and subcontract agreements
- Monitor project cash flow by reviewing customer invoices, unbilled balances, and performing reconciliations
- Track subcontractor expenditures and analyze cost trends against budgets
- Collaborate with Program Management to prepare financial reports, presentations, and contractual deliverables
- Reconcile weekly, monthly, and cumulative cost and performance data to provide variance analysis and trending
- Assist with price and cost estimates using standard pricing concepts and government accounting standards (FAR, CAS)
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
- 2+ years of progressive financial analysis and program management experience
- Hands-on expertise in budgeting, forecasting, and project controls
- Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial accounting principles
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel skills
- Understanding of program management concepts such as variance analysis and project schedules
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Deltek Costpoint, COBRA, COGNOS, Hyperion, or Power BI
- Familiarity with U.S. government agency reporting requirements (e.g., NASA, DOD, FEDSIM)
- Basic knowledge of Earned Value Management System (EVMS) concepts
