About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries, including high-volume batches, ensuring accuracy and compliance
- Perform monthly and quarterly reconciliations and investigate financial variances
- Analyze financial data and trends to support reporting and explain fluctuations
- Prepare financial reports and support month-end and year-end processes, including audits
- Manage invoicing and accounts receivable, ensuring accurate allocation of OHIP and other payments
- Collaborate with the billing office and software providers to ensure accurate payment recording
- Identify accounting issues and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency
- Provide bookkeeping support and cross-functional assistance for assigned programs
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in accounting or a related field
- 2–5 years of progressive experience in an accounting or finance environment
- Proficiency in Excel and ERP systems (e.g., SAP or similar)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with high attention to detail
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Word and PowerPoint
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Experience in a healthcare environment is considered an asset
