Financial Analyst I

Responsibilities

• Evaluate research protocols to assess resource needs, including staff time and ancillary department costs
• Develop and negotiate initial and amended budgets for clinical trials with external sponsors
• Identify and classify research-related costs versus standard-of-care expenses
• Produce budget amendments as required to ensure financial solvency of trials
• Establish effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and external constituents
• Support business cases for program expansion and participate in special committees as assigned

Requirements

• Community college diploma (three-year) in Business Administration or an equivalent program
• 2-3 years of relevant professional experience
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Proven experience with financial modeling
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and collaboration

Preferred Qualifications

• University degree in Business Administration
• Enrolment in a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., CPA)
• Previous experience working within a healthcare setting
• Experience managing research funding or clinical trial budgets
