About the role
Responsibilities
- Evaluate research protocols to assess resource needs, including staff time and ancillary department costs
- Develop and negotiate initial and amended budgets for clinical trials with external sponsors
- Identify and classify research-related costs versus standard-of-care expenses
- Produce budget amendments as required to ensure financial solvency of trials
- Establish effective working relationships with cross-functional teams and external constituents
- Support business cases for program expansion and participate in special committees as assigned
Requirements
- Community college diploma (three-year) in Business Administration or an equivalent program
- 2-3 years of relevant professional experience
- Expert knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Proven experience with financial modeling
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and mathematical skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for negotiation and collaboration
Preferred Qualifications
- University degree in Business Administration
- Enrolment in a recognized professional accounting program (e.g., CPA)
- Previous experience working within a healthcare setting
- Experience managing research funding or clinical trial budgets
