Financial Analyst

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze grants, contracts, and cooperative agreements to prepare and approve sponsored project accounts and budget authorizations
• Ensure compliance with award regulatory terms and University policies, including Conflicts of Interest and Human Subjects approvals
• Process awarded information into the grants management system for project creation and modifications
• Reconcile data between the grants management system and the University's financial system to ensure accuracy
• Manage a full caseload of departments and assume primary responsibility for their portfolio of accounts

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education and experience
• Four years of related professional experience
• Knowledge of OMB, Federal, and State laws and regulations
• Experience with financial reporting of sponsored projects
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and proactive problem-solving skills
• Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
• Experience using other Microsoft applications and accounting software
• Strong oral and written communication skills
