About the role
Responsibilities
- Act as a finance business partner for operational areas, managing costs, investments, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Elaborate and review annual budgets and 5-year plans in compliance with accounting standards and internal guidelines.
- Perform monthly forecast reviews, identifying risks and opportunities regarding costs, expenses, and investments.
- Analyze performance (actual vs. budgeted) to identify deviations and their root causes.
- Manage operational cost routines and analyze trends to support proactive decision-making by managers.
- Create and monitor technical-financial KPIs to guide operational areas on schedules and macroeconomic assumptions.
- Reconcile operational information with business unit reports using PowerPoint and Power BI for data presentation.
- Conduct cost meetings with coordinators, managers, and engineers to implement action plans for risk mitigation.
Requirements
- Degree in Engineering, Accounting, Economics, or Administration.
- Experience in cost management and control (fixed and variable).
- Experience with budgeting and forecasting processes.
- Experience with contract and operational cost control (e.g., maintenance, materials, shutdowns) within a mining environment.
- Proficiency in Excel (Intermediate) and SAP (queries/reconciliations).
- Intermediate knowledge of Business Intelligence (BI) tools for analysis and storytelling.
- Knowledge of Hyperion.
