About the role
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary fiscal advisor to the Vice President of Academic Affairs, Associate Vice President, and college deans.
- Develop and validate sophisticated financial models, including ROI, contribution margin, and faculty capacity modeling.
- Translate complex financial data into actionable academic strategies and long-range planning tools.
- Monitor endowment accounts and scholarships to ensure donor intent is met and strategic utility is maximized.
- Act as the technical liaison between Academic Affairs and the finance, administration, and advancement offices.
- Implement fiscal policies and reporting protocols to improve resource allocation transparency across 70+ academic programs.
- Synthesize financial and enrollment data to produce "state-of-the-division" reports for the Provost.
Requirements
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible experience in financial analysis, budgeting, or fiscal management.
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field.
- Proven track record of using budget analysis and reporting software to provide strategic insights to executive leadership.
- Strong "technical translation" skills with the ability to communicate complex fiscal constraints to academic leaders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and identify process improvements.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master of Business Administration (MBA) or a related master’s degree.
- Experience in higher education finance.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel), Tableau, and Qualtrics.
- Familiarity with Banner and database management tools such as SQL or Access.
