Financial Aid Operations Specialist

Responsibilities

• Manage, maintain, and update Banner Financial Aid systems, including patches and testing.
• Develop and automate operational policies and procedures in accordance with US Department of Education requirements.
• Review and process Leave of Absence (LOA) and Withdrawal requests.
• Support compliance efforts, including c-flag compliance and banner letter reporting.
• Identify compliance vulnerabilities and implement corrective action plans to mitigate risk.
• Update policy manuals and workflow procedures to maintain alignment with federal aid requirements.
• Support internal and external audits by retrieving files and reviewing records for accuracy.
• Assist in gathering, compiling, and analyzing data for reporting and database queries.
• Collaborate with Admissions, Registrar, Bursar, and Clinical Education Operations to ensure integrated processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Minimum of five years of progressive experience in Financial Aid or process improvement.
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including macros and complex formulas.
• Strong analytical, technical, and problem-solving skills with a focus on automation.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree.
• Advanced knowledge of US Title IV financial aid regulations and programs.
• Proven technical experience with Banner financial systems.
