Financial Aid Counselor

Responsibilities

• Meet with current and prospective students and families to provide financial aid information and assistance.
• Perform need analysis and package financial aid, including the generation of award letters.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and institutional financial aid regulations.
• Calculate and process return of Title IV funds for Traditional and SAGE students.
• Administer Pennsylvania State Grant Programs, PHEAA programs, and State Work Study.
• Monitor academic progress for SAGE students and respond to inquiries regarding aid and billing.
• Handle Newcombe Scholarship funds, including reviewing scholarship applications.
• Collaborate with the Director to improve office procedures and workflow efficiency.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree required.
• Previous experience in higher education, preferably within a financial aid office.
• Strong knowledge of financial aid processes and regulations.
• Proficiency in word processing, database management, and spreadsheet programs.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and counseling skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise professional judgment.
• Ability to work occasional evenings and weekends as needed.
