About the role

Responsibilities

  • Assist students and parents through the financial aid process, including undergraduate, graduate, and correctional education students.
  • Conduct student needs analysis in compliance with federal, state, and institutional regulations to determine eligibility.
  • Prepare and manage financial aid packages, determining types and amounts of aid to be awarded.
  • Counsel students and families on financial aid programs, personal financial planning, and money management.
  • Review verifications for accuracy, resolve conflicting information, and manage over-awards.
  • Utilize professional judgment to adjust student eligibility based on documented mitigating circumstances.
  • Complete Return of Title IV Funds calculations and participate in policy development and annual training.
  • Create, maintain, and present educational financial aid materials.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science or Arts from an accredited four-year college or university.
  • Demonstrated experience in student financial aid or a field directly related to financial aid counseling.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite software.
  • Strong knowledge of federal and state financial aid rules and regulations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage a significant caseload and prioritize tasks under deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to adhere to data confidentiality regulations, including FERPA.
  • Must be currently authorized to work in the United States.
