Financial Aid Assistant

Responsibilities

• Assist visitors and provide administrative support to current and prospective students within the University Student Services Center.
• Perform student outreach tasks and handle inquiries regarding financial aid.
• Execute clerical functions including keying in correspondence, records, and requisitions.
• Manage departmental documentation, including processing invoices, expense reports, and reconciling discrepancies.
• Maintain organized physical and electronic files using secure, confidential drives.
• Support data collection efforts for internal reporting to assist with university decision-making and planning.
• Represent the University Student Services Center professionally when interacting with internal and external contacts.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required; Associate degree preferred.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite.
• Demonstrated ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with professionalism.
• Strong organizational, time management, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform moderate physical activity, including standing or walking for extended periods.
• Flexibility to work outside of normal business hours as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with PowerFAIDS, PowerCampus, or Jenzabar systems.
