Financial Accountant

Responsibilities

• Support the South African business by ensuring local compliance, performing monthly reconciliations, and managing cash flow.
• Prepare monthly standard journals and assist with monthly and year-end closure processes.
• Perform General Ledger reconciliations and investigate long or unusual reconciling items.
• Analyze and interpret financial data to provide management information for decision-making.
• Prepare monthly statements, forecasts, and budgets by analyzing variances and trends.
• Manage inter-company transaction reconciliations, reviews, and payments.
• Verify supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness before capturing transactions.
• Assist with internal and external audits, as well as BEE compliance audits.
• Provide assistance with monthly HFM reporting and payroll reconciliations.
• Respond to financial inquiries from various business units and stakeholders.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
• 6+ years of experience in a similar accounting role.
• Proven experience working with African entities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical and reconciling skills.
• Thorough knowledge of accounting procedures and principles.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
