Financial Accountant

Responsibilities

• Manage the trading P&L and balance sheet of a trading entity within the group
• Assist in the preparation of month-end reporting packs and present findings to management committee members
• Prepare audit schedules to support income statements and balance sheets
• Assist in the preparation of Statutory Financial Statements at year-end
• Perform fair value and financial instrument accounting under IFRS 9 and IFRS 13, including recording trading positions and reviewing pricing inputs
• Manage intercompany accounting, including monthly journals and reconciliation of balances across SIG entities
• Liaise with external audit teams to respond to queries and provide supporting documentation
• Support process improvement and control enhancement initiatives to automate manual reconciliations and improve the close process

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACCA, CIMA, or ACA)
• Minimum of two years of experience in an accounts production environment
• Excellent proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Access
• Experience preparing audit schedules and interacting directly with external auditors
• Familiarity with IFRS 13 and IFRS 9 (fair value hierarchy concepts)
• Strong analytical skills and the ability to manage large volumes of data
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in Big 4 Financial Services Audit
• Exposure to Asset & Wealth Management, Capital Markets, or Financial Services Audit
