Financial Accountant

Responsibilities

• Take full ownership of management accounts for specific entities within the Octopus Inheritance Tax Products (OITS) portfolio
• Manage sub-consolidations within the Fern group, covering sectors such as energy, housebuilding, fibre, and lending
• Utilize consolidation software to prepare accurate consolidated results and monthly, quarterly, and annual management reporting
• Review subsidiary budgets and analyze performance against budget for board reporting
• Collaborate with Company Secretarial to ensure investments, distributions, and equity transactions are recorded correctly
• Work closely with auditors, tax teams, and statutory accounts teams to deliver group audits and financial statements
• Research technical accounting areas and draft papers on new transactions or changes to accounting policy
• Support the Financial Controller and Finance Managers in improving reporting processes and providing financial information to investment teams

Requirements

• Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA)
• Proven experience in group consolidation
• Background in audit or financial services
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships across teams
• Highly organized with excellent time management skills and attention to detail
