Finance/Budget Manager

Responsibilities

• Serve as the principal fiscal advisor and budget authority for the Department of Chemistry
• Oversee financial operations, including fiscal analysis, accountability, and resource allocation
• Supervise and direct the work of fiscal support staff to ensure efficient operations
• Manage departmental and university policies to support institutional goals
• Participate in planning efforts in collaboration with department and school leadership

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
• Four years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities of the role
• At least one year of supervisory experience
• Proficiency with spreadsheet, database, word processing, e-mail, and calendaring software
• Experience with budget, personnel, and management of financial resources
• Excellent written and oral communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• More than 2 years of fiscal experience in an academic department within a higher education setting
• Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with WSU systems
• Experience with the Workday system
