About the role

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary operator for all financial functions of the Edward R. Murrow College of Communication
  • Manage support functions including grants, payroll, major purchases, travel, and service operations
  • Oversee course fees and lead fiscal analysis, review, and reconciliation for summer session operations
  • Utilize independent judgment to analyze complex financial problems and implement effective solutions
  • Supervise and lead staff while ensuring compliance with federal and state fiscal regulations

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field (or equivalent combination of education and experience)
  • Four years of experience directly related to financial management and accounting
  • At least one year of supervisory experience leading staff
  • Demonstrated knowledge of complex budget and accounting processes
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and financial databases
  • Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and cost analysis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with higher education or state agency financial policies and procedures
  • Experience with Workday or other online enterprise accounting systems
  • Familiarity with public broadcasting accounting methods
  • Experience creating financial reports for external audits
  • Experience working with service centers, contracts, and establishing course fees
