About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide multi-task financial services to various divisions including Treasury, Compliance and Collections, Payroll, and Financial Analysis
- Review and audit city income tax returns with citizens and provide interpretation of municipal tax laws
- Maintain daily balances and troubleshoot operating budget codes, receivables, payment vouchers, and warrants
- Audit financial transactions, including payroll vouchers, to ensure funds are properly appropriated and recorded
- Manage encumbrances, reimbursements of funds, and the transfer of monies
Requirements
- Must meet one of the following combinations:
- High school diploma or GED, 3 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, and 3 years of customer service/administrative support
- 1 year of experience as a Finance Technician I
- 2 years of college, 2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, and 2 years of customer service experience
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
