About the role

Responsibilities

  • Provide integrated financial, academic appointment, and administrative support for the School of Engineering
  • Manage high-volume financial transactions, reimbursements, and expense eligibility reviews in compliance with university policies
  • Coordinate student appointments and payroll actions for approximately 36 faculty members, including Graduate Research and Academic Assistants
  • Maintain and update student appointment and employment data within Workday
  • Provide administrative support to academic and leadership committees, including meeting coordination and minute-taking
  • Serve as a key point of contact for student payroll inquiries and faculty expense guidance
  • Support senior academic leadership with special projects, communications, and event logistics

Requirements

  • Two-year diploma plus 3 years of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Experience using Workday or a comparable enterprise financial/ERP system
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and Adobe
  • Experience in finance, accounting, or human resources-related functions
  • Ability to type a minimum of 60 wpm
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage deadline-driven workloads and sensitive information

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience working in a post-secondary, public sector, or large institutional environment
  • Familiarity with university financial policies and approval workflows
  • Experience supporting student-related financial processes such as project funding or expense claims
