Finance Staff Accountant

Responsibilities

• Generate, review, and issue customer invoices accurately and on schedule
• Apply revenue recognition principles to ensure revenue is recorded in the correct period, including deferred and unbilled revenue
• Reconcile billing records against contracts and sales orders
• Investigate and resolve invoicing discrepancies, disputes, and billing inquiries
• Maintain deferred revenue and accounts receivable schedules
• Identify and propose improvements to manual or repetitive revenue and invoicing processes
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance
• Support month-end and year-end close activities

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in an accounting role
• Hands-on exposure to revenue recognition and/or billing/invoicing processes
• Post-secondary degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Working towards a CPA designation
