Finance Section Chief

Responsibilities

• Oversee the EOC Finance desk, supervising Purchasing, Fiscal, Travel, and Budget Units
• Develop staffing patterns to support SERT activities
• Track event costs with state finance offices and compile daily cost estimates
• Report mission costs to the SERT Chief and SCO
• Purchase necessary items for SERT and secure food vendor contracts
• Monitor and document personnel overtime and resolve issues
• Support SERT demobilization with financial closeouts

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (relevant experience may substitute)
• Experience within the Incident Command Framework at state or federal levels
• Experience working in an Emergency Operations Center or disaster response
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, particularly Excel
• Completion of required training: IS-100, IS-200, ICS-300, ICS-400, IS-700, IS-800, E/G/L-0191, E/L-0958, O-0305
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts including evenings and weekends

Preferred Qualifications

• Five or more years of professional experience in emergency management
• Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Emergency Management
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation
• Proficiency with Web EOC
• ICS position-specific certification
