Finance Operations Manager

Responsibilities

• Own day-to-day finance operations including bookkeeping, month-end close, and management accounts
• Lead VAT, annual accounts, R&D tax credits, and grant finance
• Manage cashflow forecasting, budgeting, and liquidity reporting
• Maintain project profitability reporting and revenue recognition schedules
• Support project costing, pricing, and financial modelling
• Build a scalable finance function by improving systems, workflows, and processes
• Provide strategic support through due diligence and business case development

Requirements

• Experience in a Finance Manager, Financial Controller, or Management Accountant role within a tech startup, engineering, or manufacturing environment
• ACCA, CIMA, ACA, or equivalent qualification
• Strong Excel skills including pivot tables and Power Query
• Proficiency with modern AI tools and interest in automation
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar accounting platforms
• Ability to work primarily from the Oxford office

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in hardware, manufacturing, aerospace, robotics, or defence sectors
• Experience with project accounting and grant-funded projects
• Experience supporting R&D tax claims
• ERP implementation experience
• Experience with Power BI, automation platforms, or workflow systems
• Ability to obtain and maintain security clearance
