About the role
Responsibilities
- Prepare and distribute monthly customer invoices
- Liaise with staff and leadership regarding timesheet completion
- Perform month-end close activities including balance sheet reconciliations, manual journals, and accruals
- Prepare monthly reporting packs for the parent company
- Manage supplier accounts, statement reconciliations, and monthly payment runs
- Assist with BAS preparation, GST, and quarterly income tax provisions
- Maintain the general ledger and ensure financial data integrity
- Complete bank, credit card, and expense account reconciliations
- Follow up outstanding customer payments and support accounts receivable
- Liaise with external accountants regarding payroll and financial queries
- Support process improvements and ad hoc finance projects
Requirements
- 2-5 years of experience in bookkeeping, finance officer, or assistant accountant roles
- Strong understanding of month-end accounting processes and reconciliations
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities
- Proactive problem-solving mindset
- Experience with Xero or similar cloud-based accounting software is desirable
- Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills
